Baby playgroups/classes for a 3 month old and mom?
I have a 3 month old and was wondering if there are any sort of playgroups/classes that me and my baby can go to together, to interact with other babies and their parents. Is this appropriate or is my baby too young still for anything like this? It would be nice to get out of the house and do something fun with the baby where we interact with others. Has anyone done these things with their baby and at what age?
answers:
The baby and you are at the perfect age for playgroups!
Check out the local YMCA, community colleges, art schools, zoo..etc. Also the public library and bookstores may have lap time story hours where you can socialize with other moms of lil’ ones.
The Y has baby swim classes. You can also look into kindermusik and baby yoga classes.
I found the MOMS Club to be a wonderful experience with my oldest.
The website is momsclub.org . This will let you know how to contact your local group.
It is a group of stay at home (and some working moms that are home during the day) that get together with the kids and do playgroups, park days, scrapbooking, moms night out, field trips..etc.
Its a great way to meet other moms like you…and to have your baby learn to socialize. You go to what you want to..don’t go to the things you don’t. Very low key.
My oldest is now in grade school and he has grown up with 8 of the kids in his class since he was 11 months old!! They are all like family instead of classmates.
GREAT Experience!
There is also mops and some other baby groups.

Ken asks…
Does anyone have any suggestions for starting a playgroup/parent’s social group?
I would like to start a playgroup for younger parents and younger babies. There really isn’t anything aimed for younger couples in my area. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to do this? Posting flyers, meeting places, etc.? I live in Dallas, TX if this is helpful.
answers:
Try craig’s list, it’s free and you can see where it goes. Also look for Mom’s clubs online, this is a national organization for mom’s and operates in most major cities. In the mom’s club they have play groups almost every day of the week.

How many and where are the attachment parenting groups in West Texas? And how do I get in contact with them?
I’d like to have a playgroup, etc, with some like-minded mothers in the West Texas area.
